February 2015

Dear North Community,

On January20 we began a revised school schedule, which includes a week 1 and 2 rotation. Your childs classroom teacher has sent home the daily schedule, which includes when your child will have Art, Health, Music, Physical Education, and Technology Class. Library Book exchange will happen on week 1 in conjunction with the technology block. On the monthly calendar that is copied on the back of the lunch menu the weeks will be labeled week 1 and week 2 for your reference.We had various in school assemblies that included visits from Junior Achievement, and Kids on the Block an anti bullying program. Please visit Chilis restaurant on February 12 from 11:00a.m.-11:00p.m a portion of the proceeds will be given to North PTO. February 15 well be heading to the Providence Bruins, look for details on your flyer from PTO. February 23 the Student Council is asking students and staff to show their support for Heart Health Month and wear red or pink to kick off Jump Rope for Heart coordinated by Mrs. Munce and Ms. Wells. Our school wide goal is to raise $7500.00. Last year we raised $7,198.57.The Special Activities Committee is planning a Read Across America Day on March 2; during the month of February, you will be receiving more information to support students love of reading. Our theme this year is THE SNEETCHES The more students read the better readers they become. Again, thank you for your support on our journey in learning.

Below are PATHS messages that will be included in the morning announcements the month of February. PATHS is the social/emotional curriculum that has been implemented k-5.

Remember your manners today! Try your hardest to be polite and well-behaved! Use words like, please, thank you, excuse me, and Im sorry, when you should.

Week of February 9

Today is Rules Review Day. Spend a few minutes today thinking about classroom, hallway, and cafeteria rules. Try your hardest to follow those rules and help create a positive school atmosphere!

Week of February 23

Today is Personal Responsibility Day. Plan ahead for what you need. Write down all of your homework assignments and double check that you take it all home with you tonight.
